Raisa’s interest in software development piqued in college. She realized she enjoyed Software Development 101 so much that she started building her own software programs during her free time. Ultimately, majoring in computer science was the right thing for her.

Now Raisa continues to build programs at Expedia Group in Seattle which allows her to combine her love of travel and technology.

What does your day typically look like?

I am part of the Conversation Platform and Customer Engagement team. Our goal is to build innovative technologies that allow Expedia Group to create and maintain a relationship with our customer through conversations! Every day at work brings a new challenge for me and my team to solve. This allows me to constantly learn new technologies and use them to improve the conversational experience for our customers. I love solving problems and learning, which makes coming to work every day something I look forward to.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My job consists of turning ideas into technologies that help our customers. My favorite part of my job is seeing the ideas that my team and I worked so hard on become an actual tool that is used worldwide!

What has been your proudest moment so far at Expedia Group?

The cool thing about working in tech is that you can be proud every day! Every time I solve a new problem, every time I come up with a new idea, I feel proud and excited about my job!

In my personal life, I love immersing myself in different cultures! I enjoy trying food from other countries and of course, traveling!
